Urban Farmhouse
A home that reflects both its place and time while striving to be timeless
Newly built within the fabric of east Austin, this house is both contextual and contemporary.
The simple agrarian gabled form presents its long face to the street. Inside, a lofty interior reveals itself. This light filled space is defined by the open kitchen, dining and living space. The stairway is screened with vertical steel slats – filtering light from above, a low-slung steel bookcase engages with the landing, all serving as a backdrop to the dining area. The masonry fireplace with its Leuders limestone surround anchors the Living. Nestled into the roofline, the two bedrooms and flex space are connected by a generous book-lined and light-filled hall overlooking the stair.
Resulting in a home that reflects both its place and time while striving to be timeless.
