San Antonio Loft
An art collector’s space to entertain and recharge
Working within a century-old warehouse presents many challenges. In this case, our challenge was making the most of the limited daylight available.
Light wells were used to funnel daylight through this four-level loft. A series of contrasting stairs highlight the experience of moving from level to level – a closed stair from the lower kitchen level to a mezzanine overlook, an open sky-lit steel staircase to the main living level and a colorful spiral stair to the rooftop views of downtown San Antonio. Walls are kept simple to allow our client’s ever-changing art collection to be the shining star.
