Reorganized Ranch
Sustainable renovation within a well-loved garden
Sited on 4 acres in Western Travis county, this ill-conceived ranch home was surrounded by beautiful gardens its owners had created as therapy from their stressful lives in Houston. Care was taken to fully renovate this home, instead of building new. This was the first of several sustainable concepts employed on this project.
Rooms were reorganized to take better advantage of the natural splendor of the site, as well as, better flow of the interior spaces. The generous kitchen now open to the living room, back porches, and views beyond. A client requested, seasonal porch transitions between inside and out, allowing the homeowner flexibility. A new master suite was created along with a gracious spa-like bathroom. All the while the star of this renovation is the views of the much-loved gardens and Hill Country views.
