Modest Modern
Staying true to the existing bones while addressing the needs of a modern family
After relocating from Chicago, this growing family found a typical 1940’s Tarrytown home and immediately began dreaming of a renovation.
A 1970’s addition was removed from the rear of the house, front entry reorganized, the kitchen relocated, a second floor for their daughter’s bedrooms was added, and a casita to host visiting guests or a little get-away space for the family is separated from the main body of the house by a covered porch.
All was achieved while giving attention to the family’s personal style, as well as, budget constraints.
